Shipping

We promise you will be pleased with the handling your item receives. We normally ship via the U.S. Postal service, but can accommodate your preference for other shippers—just send us an e-mail (info@independent-books.com) or give us a call from 10-5 pm, Pacific Daylight Time (360/642-8561).

Our basic assumptions and practices are:

• Your purchase weighs less than 1 kilo (2.2 pounds)
• For priority shipping, your purchase will fit in a US Postal Service Priority Mail envelope
• Wherever possible and economically practicable, shipments will have tracking
• Each book in a set of books is considered a separate item for shipping
• Insurance is purchased for books $50 or greater in value
• For single books of $500 or more in value, shipping is on us
• For sets of books of $2,000 or more in value, shipping is on us

If the above assumptions are not valid for your purchase, we will contact you about your shipping options.

Domestic Shipping

To US destinations, our standard shipping is US Postal Service Media Mail. Our domestic expedited shipping is US Postal Service Priority Mail.

Standard shipping is $4.75 for the first item, and $2.00 per item thereafter. For sets, the first book in the set is $4.75, and each remaining book is $2.00.

Expedited shipping is $11.50 for the first item, and $3.00 per item thereafter. For sets, the first book in the set is $11.50, and each remaining book is $3.00.

Non-Domestic Shipping

To non-US destinations, our standard shipping is US Postal Service Priority Mail.

Standard shipping that fits in a US Priority Envelope is $11.95 US.

Standard shipping too large for the Priority Envelope is $27.00 US for the first item and $3.00 US per item thereafter. For sets, the first book in the set is $27.00 US, and each remaining book is $3.00 US.

Returns

Our return philosophy is simple: we want you happy. Our return policy is also simple. If you are unsatisfied in any way, return your purchase for a prompt full refund—the cost of the item and of shipping in both directions. If you simply change your mind, return your purchase for a prompt partial refund—the cost of the item (but not of shipping). The item must be returned to us in the same condition in which it was shipped to you.
